Background information
The foundation Tikkun Olam conducts its activities in the belief that God is the Creator of the Heavens and the earth. Because Adam fell mankind needed a Redeemer, that was able to restore the relation between mankind and their Creator. We believe that Jesus Christ is the Redeemer of mankind. He is the Son of the living God who has redeemed us by His death on the cross and by his blood.
The foundation wants to bring restoration to the original order that God had placed into His Creation. We have been mandated by God by the assignment He gave to mankind to be fruitful and subdue the earth. He had given the authority to Adam to rule the earth. We believe that we have been given the same authority to bring restoration into this creation. In this manner do we give meaning to the principle that is called Tikkun Olam in Hebrew.
The activities of our foundation are set to bring restoration in the manner as it is described in Scripture. Not only do we strive for the restoration for mankind, but for the creation as a whole. We are convinced that Jesus Christ is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of creation. That everything that exists is created by Him and for Him. Christ is the centre of creation and mankind. (Colossians 1:15-23).
We believe that the manifestation of the power of Jesus Christ in our lives, enables u to be an instrument of restoration. Paul writes in Romans 8:19-23 that creation is eagerly waiting for the manifestation of the Sons of God. Creation can and will be set free from the corruption and destruction to which she now is subjected.
